The Aiea Naval Hospital here, which was decommissioned on May 31, 1949, had its morgue located in the basement of Building 1. Today the security office of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific is in the same location. The building that currently headquarters MarForPac was once the primary rear-area hospital for the Navy and Marine Corps in World War II.
