Jerry M. Williams
Jerry M. Williams Jr enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attended Recruit Training in October 1999. After successful completion of Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, Private First Class Williams received orders to attend the Basic Music Course at the Naval School of Music. After graduating from the Basic Music Course in August 1999, Lance Corporal Williams was transferred to Marine Band San Diego where he served as a trumpet/cornet instrumentalist, Loading Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Training Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Public Affairs Chief, Squad Leader, Trumpet Section Leader and Assistant Enlisted Conductor. While stationed with Marine Band San Diego he was promoted to the ranks of Corporal then Sergeant.
In December of 2003, Sergeant Williams was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and became a Field Training Manager for Health-Mor Industries in Salt Lake City Utah. In December of 2004, Sergeant Williams re-enlisted in the Marine Corps and served as a musical trainer and advisor to Recruiting Station Salt Lake City. In February of 2005, he received orders back to Marine Band San Diego, where he served as a trumpet/cornet section leader, squad leader, Library Chief and Assistant Enlisted conductor.
In February 2009, Sergeant Williams received orders to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band where he served as the Drum Major from April to August of 2009 before reassuming his duties as trumpet Instrumentalist. In May of 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In January of 2012 Staff Sergeant Williams received orders to return to the Naval School of Music to attend the Unit Leader and Senior Musicians Courses. After completion of his training at the School of Music he received orders to his current duty station with the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band. In 2015 Staff Sergeant Williams was selected and appointed as the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band Enlisted Conductor. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award).
