The Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) capability was originally established by the DoD in 2004. The MFLC capability provides counseling and services to individual Marines and Sailors. MFLCs provide confidential, short-‐term, solution-‐focused, non-‐medical counseling and financial education services to service members, couples, and family members. These are embedded assets for operational commanders focused on preventing or mitigating potential behavioral health related issues. Services offered are geared to maintain mission readiness within the Carolina MAGTF.
