Force Chaplain Home



The Force Chaplains Office is responsible for the effective delivery of religious ministry (RM) throughout the Marine Forces assigned to U.S. Pacific Command.  Religious Ministry Teams (RMTs) assigned to Marine Forces Pacific administer command religious programs are charged with accomplishing the four core Chaplain Corps capabilities:  Chaplains care for all servicemembers and their families, including those who claim no religious faith, facilitate the religious requirements of personnel of all faiths, provide faith specific ministries, and advise the command and all issues relating to morale, morals, ethics, spiritual well-being, and emerging religious requirements.

The Force Chaplain's Office mission priorities include the following:

  • Combat Ministry Support
    • Senior MAGTF RMTs trained and focused for Combat Ministry Leadership.
    • RMTs fully trained and supported for Combat Ministry.
    • Highest manning priority for sourcing combat force RM lay down.
  • Religious Ministry support of Operational Missions
    • RM for all deployed troops: full service and responsive.
    • Active RMT participation in TSC, HA/DR, exercises and Engagement initiatives. 
      • Enhanced interaction with HN chaplaincies, religious leaders, and community leaders.
      • Cooperative and collaborative support with other agencies (DOS, NGOs, PVOs)
      • Proactively participate in OPTs and OPLAN/EXPLAN development
  • Proactive Ministry Development Initiatives
    • Commandant’s priorities:
      • Suicide prevention (Proactive intervention program). 
      • Sexual assault prevention (Enhanced RMT SA response training).
      • Marriage support and Divorce prevention (New marriage orientation program)
    • RM, Spirituality and Psychological Health
      • Active collaborative participation in COSC, OSCAR and Resiliency initiatives.
      • Develop and promote Spiritual resources for Psychological Health.
  • Installation Ministry Support
    • Attractive, outreaching faith group communities aboard installations.
    • Improvement and refinement of chaplains’ faith group ministry leadership skills. 
    • Focused and effective installation ministry leadership.
      • Justifiable and efficient resourcing for chapel ministries.
    • CENTCOM Theater and Operational Special Religious Support
    • Special Worship Support Missions:
      • Jewish
      • Muslim
      • Orthodox Christian
    • Worldwide USMC sourcing for:
      • Roman Catholic combat support
      • Combat support augmentation
    • Religious and cultural expertise.
      • Engagement support.
  • MARFOR – Marine Reserve Force integration
  • Overseas Community Relations (COMREL) Projects and Humanitarian Assistance (HA)
