In Any Clime and Place: A Visual Journey Through MARFORPAC's Legacy
U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific has played a vital role in major conflicts throughout the Pacific theater, tracing its proud history from World War II island-hopping campaigns to present-day operations, and remains the Corps’ largest operational command. Established under the command of General Holland M. Smith in 1944, MARFORPAC includes I and III Marine Expeditionary Forces, collectively known as the “Pacific Marines.” These Marines are forward deployed as crisis response forces, operating with naval expertise alongside allies and partners to prevent conflict, promote stability, and if the Nation calls, to fight and win.
