U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Paul J. Kennedy (left) is greeted by Col. David L. Odom (right) during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia, July 8. Exercises such as Talisman Sabre 2015 provide realistic, relevant training which is necessary to maintain regional security, peace, and stability. Talisman Sabre provides an invaluable opportunity to conduct operations in a combined, joint, and interagency environment that increases the U.S.-Australian alliance’s ability to plan and execute contingency responses, from combat missions to humanitarian assistance efforts. Kennedy is the commanding general of 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Odom is the commanding officer of 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF.
