U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Commander Lt. Gen. John A. Toolan, Jr., speaks with Marines from 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, during his visit to Pohakuloa Training Area on the Island of Hawaii, Jan. 10. Marines from the 2nd Bn., 3rd Marines are currently conducting training on PTA as part of Exercise Lava Viper. The training area is vital to the tenant commands stationed on MCB Hawaii. No other training environment within the Marine Corps provides such wide variety of operational training as the ranges among the Hawaiian Islands.
