U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. Brian W. Cavanaugh is the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific deputy commander. The ceremony marked the creation of the first Sri Lankan Marines; the SLMC will be an expeditionary force with specific missions of humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and peacekeeping support.
