The Marines are participating in Rim of the Pacific 2016, a multinational military exercise, from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands. Cuyler and Tholen support III Marine Expeditionary Force, which trains year-round with U.S. partners in the Pacific Region. Cuyler, a native of Rochester, New York, is a platoon commander with Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. Tholen, a Boston native, is a section leader with AAV Platoon, Combat Assault Co., 3rd Marines.
