1st Lt. Josh Cuyler, far left, and Sgt. Dalton K. Anonsen gather subordinate Marines with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment and attached members of the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force at Kawaihae Pier, Hawaii, July 15, 2016, to account for personnel and equipment after an amphibious offload from USS San Diego. The Marines are participating in Rim of the Pacific 2016, a multinational military exercise, from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands. RIMPAC 16 is a complex amphibious exercise involving numerous to ship-to-shore movements that require careful attention to detail from Marines and sailors throughout the echelons of command. Cuyler, a native of Rochester, New York, is a platoon commander with Echo Company. Anonsen, from Waldorf, Maryland, is Cuyler’s acting platoon sergeant.
