Cpl. Christopher Medieros accepts a gift of appreciation from a local Thai child at the Children Development and Protection Center in Thailand Feb. 6, 2016. Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit are in Thailand for Cobra Gold 16, an exercise designed to increase cooperation, interoperability and collaboration among partner nations in order to achieve effective solutions to common challenges. Medieros, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, is an infantry squad leader with 1st Battalion 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
