Craig B. Whelden, executive director for U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, and Col. Jay T. Arnett, deputy chief of staff, MarForPac, lay a wreath in remembrance of all Australia-New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who have given their lives, past and present, at the 40th Annual ANZAC Day ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl in Honolulu, April 25. ANZAC day has been observed globally since 1916, the year after nearly 11,000 ANZAC soldiers lost their lives in the Battle of Gallipoli.
