A Royal Thai Marine Corps amphibious assault vehicle drives on to the beach during an amphibious assault exercise May 18 as part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2011. The navy medium landing ship HTMS Surin (LST 722), not pictured, along with the dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46), simultaneously delivered amphibious assault vehicles in the bilateral training exercise. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
