An Armed Forces of the Philippines displays the emblem of the AFP Nurse Corps arch 12, 2010, at the graduation of the 2nd Annual Professional Nursing Symposium. 29 AFP nurses completed the symposium held during Balikatan 2010. The symposium was conducted as a joint effort between AFP nurses, U.S. civilians and selected medical personnel from the 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and 4th Marine Air Wing. Balikatan is an annual bilateral exercise with the AFP, Philippine civil defense agencies and U.S. military designed to increase interoperability and security in the region.
