OC Spray/Tazer training: 1st Bn, 6th Marine Regiment
U.S. Marines with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment attached to 3rd Marine Division under the Unit Deployment Program, familiarized themselves with the oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray and the X26 taser system of the non-lethal weapons training on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, March 5, 2020. This training increases the Marines’ confidence and awareness when encountering a riot control environment and conducting proper escalation of force. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Logan Foster)

15th MEU has shocking experience
The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Marines prepares themselves mentally to be shot with a HEMI/X-29E Taser and O.C. Spray during a three-day Non-Lethal Weapons Course aboard USS America (LHA 6), Dec. 17-21, 2017. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and American Amphibious Ready Group are operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance regional partnerships and serve as a ready-response capability for any type of contingency.

Tango tango tango: taser training
Marines and Sailors experience the jolt of 50-thousand volts course through their bodies during nonlethal weapons training aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), underway in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 14, 2017. Nonlethal weapons instructors with Combat Logistics Battalion-31’s Military Police Platoon trained Marines and Sailors from across the 31st MEU to use Tasers and other nonlethal weapons during security operations. A critical component of nonlethal weapons training is “exposure,” when trainees feel and experience the effects of nonlethal weapons, including Tasers. CLB-31 provides logistical support to all elements of the 31st MEU. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy's Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, providing a cohesive blue-green team capable of accomplishing a variety of missions across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
