Khaan Quest 2016: A Platoon From The Nepalese Army Executes The Cordon And Search Training Lane
A platoon from the Nepalese Army executes the cordon and search training lane during Khaan Quest 2016 at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, May 30, 2016. This lane tests participants’ reactions to various scenarios including searching operations, coordination with local authorities, and cultural awareness through interaction with the local populace. This station is one of eleven training lanes conducted during the exercise that exposes participants to different scenarios they may face during UN Peacekeeping operations. Nepalese Army Captain KC, with Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre, and Pablo Pintos, subject matter expert with the Global Peace Operations Initiative, provide remarks about the cordon and search training being conducted. Khaan Quest is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces, co-sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command, and supported by U.S. Army Pacific and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s Global Peace Operations Initiative program and will focus on training activities to enhance international interoperability develop peacekeeping capabilities, build mil-to-mil relationships, and enhance military readiness. Hueys Continue Nepal Mission Despite Crash (With Titles)
During Operation Sahayogi Haat "Helping Hand" Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, currently with Joint Task Force 505, has delivered over 40 tons of relief to the Nepalese people. Despite the tragic loss of an aircraft with six Marines and two Nepalese soldiers, the Marines continued to complete the mission. The Nepalese government requested assistance from U.S. Agency for International Development after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck their country April 25. The U.S. troops are part of JTF 505 in Nepal, which works in conjunction with USAID and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

U.S. Airmen and Nepalese Soldiers Unload Aid for Nepal - (without titles)
U.S. Airmen with the 36th Contingency Response Group bring in about 500,000 pounds of aid from around the world to Kathmandu, Nepal, every day. The Airmen and Nepalese soldiers unload supplies May 11 at the Tribhuvan International Airport to support the international humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation after the country was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The Nepalese Government requested the U.S. Government’s help after the earthquake. U.S. Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force have come together with other U.S. services to form Joint Task Force 505. JTF 505 works in conjunction with USAID and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal. Includes sound bites from Staff Sgt.
