Marines and Sailors Train with Mobile Fuel Pods and Underwater Scanning Equipment
U.S. Navy Sailors and U.S. Marines with Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Expeditionary Operations Training Group test the durability and portability of fuel pods and effectiveness of Fusion sonar scanning equipment at Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 23, 2023. This training will help increase our mobility by enabling Marines and Sailors to quickly transport fuel to remote areas and safely detect, identify, and exploit anomalies found at sea. Fueled to Fight – CLR-17 Final Field Mess Evaluation
U.S. Marines with Food Service Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, participate in Exercise Fueled to Fight at Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 3, 2023. The CLR-17 field mess Marines were competing in the Major General William Pendleton Thompson Hill Memorial Awards for Food Service Excellence. U.S. Marine Corps bulk fueling specialists with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) exercise on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 30, 2021. A FARP is used to extend the capabilities of rotary or fixed wing aircrafts to allow rearming and refueling without having to fall back to a forward operating base. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Additization Training | Bulk Fuel Marines Conduct Advance Training
U.S. Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jacob Almaguer, executive officer of Bulk Fuel Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), and Sgt. Calvin Gravette, a bulk fuel specialist, with Bulk Fuel Co., 9th Engineer Support Bn., 3d MLG, participate in an interview covering Expeditionary Mobile Fuel Additization Capability (EMFAC) training, at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 12, 2021. Bulk fuel Marines implement the new EMFAC system into advanced training to better enable forward maneuver elements, proficiency and speed into future operations in the Indo-Pacific area of operations. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility. Marines with 2nd Platoon, Bulk Fuel Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group conduct bulk fuel maintenance operations Jan. 28-31, 2019 at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Bulk Fuel Co. laid more than of six miles of fuel lines, then patrolled the area to ensure the lines’ integrity.
