U.S. Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Task Force Los Angeles, and Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), volunteer to repair a retired veteran’s home during a Habitat for Humanity event in support of Los Angeles Fleet Week, May 27, 2022. MRF-SEA 25 Deployment
U.S. Marines and Sailors with Marine Rotational Force-Southeast Asia, as a stand-in force, completing their Fiscal Year 2025 deployment and for the first time, completing a full six-month rotation. After compositing in July 2024, MRF-SEA personnel completed exercises and operations in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, and Singapore, comprised with elements from I Marine Expeditionary Force such as 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit; 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment; 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion; and 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. MRF-SEA is a rotational unit derived from elements of I MEF executing a U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific operational model that involves training events and exchanges with partner military subject matter experts, promotes security goals with allied and partner nations, and ensures a persistent I MEF stand-in presence west of the international date line. MRF-D 25.3 participate in Croix du Sud 25
U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 1, Marine Rotational – Force Darwin 25.3 and 22 partner countries participated in Croix-Du-Sud 25 at New Caledonia and Wallis Island, Wallis and Futuna, from April 21 to May 4, 2025. Croix-du-Sud is a 14-day biennial joint/multilateral field training exercise organized and led by the French Armed Forces New Caledonia, focusing on disaster relief, crisis events, and enhancing partnership and interoperability between the United States and the militaries of the Oceania countries. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
