U.S. Marines assigned to the 1st Marine Division Band play Taps at various locations in Los Angeles to commemorate their and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit's participation in Los Angeles Fleet Week 2022, from May 23 - May 31. The purpose of Fleet Week is to showcase the capabilities of the Navy-Marine Corps team and give back to the community with events, static displays, and personal interactions between service members and the public. The residents of San Pedro, Calif. were invited to view the promotion as Sasser was promoted from a company-grade officer to a field grade officer.
