UK Carrier Strike Group Assembles
The full United Kingdom (UK) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) assembled at sea on 04 October, 2020. The (CSG) is led by Her Majesty's Ship Queen Elizabeth and includes flotilla of destroyers and frigates from the UK, the Netherlands, the USS The Sullivans, and 15 F-35B Lightning II's from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 211 and the UK's 617 Squadron. 31st MEU NCOs tour Okinawa battle sites
Marines with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit participate in a historical battle site tour in Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 19, 2019. Marines toured Kakazu Ridge, Camp Kinser Battle of Okinawa Historical Display, Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters , and Okinawa Peace Memorial Park to learn about the Marine Corps’ actions in Okinawa during World War II, with the tour supported by the Marine Corps Association & Foundation. The battlefield study was part of MCA&F’s Commanders’ Forum Program which provides battlefield studies and guest speakers free of charge, to help Marines grow as tactical decision makers and leaders.
