U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Colby Melendez, an infantry motormen with 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, shares his story while attending Los Angeles Fleet Week from Aug. 31 - Sept. 3, 2018. Melendez is a Los Angeles native and participates in the fleet week by sharing his experiences in the Marines Corps and what it feels like to give back to the community. Los Angeles Fleet Week provides an opportunity for the Marine Corps and Navy to demonstrate the quality of personnel to the citizens of Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
