Stronger Together

PALS 26 Overview:

The Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium (PALS) is an annual multinational forum that brings together senior Marine Corps, naval infantry, and military leaders from allied and partner nations in the Indo-Pacific to discuss key aspects of maritime/amphibious operations, capability development, crisis response, and interoperability. The event is an important opportunity to enhance personal and professional relationships amongst the region’s amphibious and maritime community through face-to-face engagements.

This year, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, will host PALS 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaii, 15-19 June. Panel discussions and keynote speeches at PALS 26 will discuss key aspects of innovation and modernization, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, shared values and communication, maritime law enforcement, amphibious warfighting, and integrating forces in training and operations.

History

The Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium (PALS) was established in 2015 as a Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific-hosted multinational forum. It was designed to bring together senior leaders of designated Allied and partner Marine forces, Naval Infantries, and militaries with an interest in developing and improving amphibious capabilities.

Over the years, the symposium has played a significant role in enhancing military professional exchanges throughout the Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility. Engagements in the Indo-Pacific such as PALS and other exercises improve cohesion, training and interoperability with our allies and partners throughout the region. The strong relationships that result from close collaboration directly enhance regional stability and economic ties, which benefit all Pacific people.

PALS continues to gather a growing list of nations. Since the symposium’s development, several ally and partner militaries co-hosted, including Japan, Republic of Indonesia, Republic of Korea, and for the first time last year, Republic of the Philippines. The growing list of co-hosts demonstrates the depth of commitment among allies and partners to a more capable combined force across the Indo-Pacific.
