Royal Thai and U.S. Marines conduct live-fire mortar weapons training missions Feb. 12 during the Cobra Gold 2013 field training exercises in Ban Chan Krem, Kingdom of Thailand. CG 13 is the largest multinational exercise in the Asia-Pacific region and provides all participating nations an opportunity to maintain relationships and enhance interoperability. During the FTX, Royal Thai Marines from 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry, fired mortars alongside U.S. Marines with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. The battalion is attached to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, as part of the Marine Corps unit deployment program.
