Lt. Gen. Duane D. Thiessen, commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, salutes the passing colors during a relief, appointment and retirement ceremony at Dewey Square here July 19. Sgt. Maj. James R. Futrell, MarForPac sergeant major, retired, while Sgt. Maj. William. T. Stables stepped in to carry on as the new force sergeant major. The colors carried during the ceremony were those of MarForPac, MarForPac’s Headquarters and Service Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force, III Marine Expeditionary Force and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Korea.
