Col. Terry Brady, G-1 Assistant Chief of Staff, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, addresses one of his Marines about a recent PME Sept. 4, at MarForPac. Symbolizing years of Brady's intricate military education lessons, and the need for an assistant sworn to secrecy to facilitate the coordinating efforts, the ball was handed down from helper onward until Brady's last class, Sept. 3. A typical class consisted of months of careful planning, sometimes reserving helicopters or other training areas, blindfolding all participants, and taking them to an uknown location for the day's focus, ranging from historical events - to modern day problems such as human trafficking. As Brady prepares to retire after 38 years of service Sept. 11, his well-known educational approach is one of the many aspects he leaves behind, and possibly his favorite.
