U.S. service members volunteered for the experience and military medics were on hand during a jungle survival class Feb. 17 at Camp Akatosrot, Phitsanulok province, Kingdom of Thailand, during exercise Cobra Gold 2013. U.S. soldiers are with Baker Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. U.S. Marines and sailors from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit executed the demonstration alongside Royal Thai Marines. CG 13, in its 32nd iteration, is a multinational exercise that promotes regional prosperity, security and cooperation among partner militaries. During the ceremony, attendees celebrated the building constructed by multinational forces during an engineering civic assistance project, part of exercise Cobra Gold 2013.
