CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii --
U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, in conjunction with the office of the Mayor of the City & County of Honolulu, will hold a ceremony Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pikake Room of the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu to appropriately recognize the military, civic and civilian first responders who aided in the rescue and treatment of the crew and passengers of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, which suffered a mishap at Landing Zone Gull, Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, May 17, 2015.
MARFORPAC Commander Lieutenant General John A. Toolan is sponsoring this ceremony to express his appreciation for the heroic, selfless actions of those who responded to the mishap. The ceremony will feature music, speakers, presentation of the colors and various forms of recognition to the first responders.
The ceremony will be open to the media and public.
