Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and U.S. service members show camaraderie by shaking hands at the opening ceremony of Exercise Balikatan 2016 at Camp Peralta, Panay, Philippines, April 4, 2016. The ceremony signified the official start of the annual bilateral exercise that will run from 4-16 April. In Panay, Balikatan 2016 will consist of medical, dental, veterinary, and engineering civic actions, as part of humanitarian civic assistant projects. AFP and the U.S. military will work together to strengthen their longstanding alliance and to enhance the security and stability of the Philippine nation.
