Abraham Nasak, the director for the Vanuatu National Disaster Management Office reviews a ‘Department of Defense Support to Foreign Disaster Relief’ handbook during a meeting with U.S. Marines attached to Task Force Koa Moana, at Port Vila, Efate Island, Republic of Vanuatu, Nov. 12, 2018. The Marines met with the National Disaster Management Office to exchange humanitarian assistance and disaster and relief procedures as part of the Task Force’s continued multilateral engagements designed to strengthen and enhance relationships among the United States and partner nations in the Indo-Pacific and South Pacific regions. Approximately 130 U.S. Marines and Sailors with the I Marine Expeditionary Force are participating in security cooperation events with several Oceania partner nations in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility while embarked on the USNS Stockham (T-AK 3017) from October November to December 2018 as part of Task Force Koa Moana.
