U.S. Marines with Company C, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, brace themselves as a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 flies overhead July 15 during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia. The purpose of Talisman Sabre is to improve Australian-U.S. readiness for a wide variety of contingencies, strengthen interoperability, maximize combined training opportunities and conduct maritime prepositioning and logistics operations in maritime and littoral training areas of Australia. Talisman Sabre is a realistic and challenging exercise that improves both nations’ ability to work bilaterally, preparing U.S. and Australian service members to work together to provide security in the region and around the world.
