The Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots Hawaii drive is proud to announce that it will again be partnering with The Salvation Army for the 2009 Toys for Tots Collection effort. The Salvation Army has been providing toy distribution services to this effort for several years here in Hawaii. Their volunteers man the collection warehouse, catalog, organize and distribute donations to agencies that serve families in need. Organizations that would like to apply to receive donated toys may do so by contacting The Salvation Army’s Family Service Office at 591-5605.

Warehouse space for this year’s effort has again been graciously donated by Castle & Cooke, Inc.  Toys for Tots Hawaii would not be able to conduct this annual collection drive without the most generous support of these two organizations.

Last year, Toys for Tots Hawaii collected 40,000 toys for Hawaii’s less fortunate keiki.  This year’s goal is 45,000 toys – given the tough economic climate, we anticipate that the need will be greater than ever.  The 2009 Toys for Tots Hawaii effort will officially kick off Nov. 7th.
