The Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium (PALS) brings together senior leaders of allied and partner nations throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to have a meaningful dialogue on key aspects of maritime/amphibious operations, capability development, crisis response, and interoperability. Currently, 22 countries, including the U.S. and the Republic of Korea, are participating in PALS-2017.
PALS 17 is being hosted by the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. This is the first iteration to be hosted outside of the United States.
The symposium consists of academic presentations, viewing an amphibious demonstration, group discussions, static displays of military hardware, and tours associated with Korean culture and the Joint Security Area.
Engagements in the Indo-Asia Pacific such as PALS and other exercises result in better training and interoperability with our friends and partners throughout the region; they also pave the way for enhanced regional stability and economic ties beneficial to all.
The PALS feature page on DVIDS will provide imagery daily for use and distribution.
