Sgt. Robert Manion, training’s nuclear, biological and chemical chief for Headquarters and Service Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific and one of the “Ride Safe Club” founders, leads the pack of sports bikes toward the base’s front gates for their monthly ride Oct. 24.
The club was founded August of 2008, to promote safety and awareness to MarForPac riders, but Manion invites all riders aboard Camp Smith to join the group.
“We’ve got a couple new riders come out and a lot of calls from people who’re interested,” said Chief Warrant Officer-3 Ronald Granneman, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense officer in charge for MarForPac.
Granneman said he’s recently received his instructors certification for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course and encourages new and non-riders who want to learn more to participate with the club and it has to offer.
